Community rules

This is a place to practise a language with a stranger. Keep it usable for everyone and it stays worth using.

You must be 18 or older

This service is for adults. If you are under 18, do not use it. If you believe you are talking to a minor, end the chat and report it.

Not allowed

  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or abuse of any kind
  • Sexual content, or any sexual approach to another user
  • Sharing anyone's personal information, including your own
  • Spam, advertising, scams, or links to them
  • Anything illegal

Reporting and blocking

Active text and voice conversations have Block and Report. Blocking means you are never matched with that person again. Reporting sends the recent messages supplied by your browser to the service database and asks the other participant for their copy. Reporting also blocks the person. The app does not confirm that a report was reviewed or promise a particular response.

A saved friend conversation cannot be reported from its history view. Use Block there to block the person and remove the friendship.

Do not file a report you know is false. Reports are not automatically converted into bans by the application.

What we store

Ordinary stranger text messages are not written to the app database. Message text is checked by the configured moderation provider, and messages submitted with a report are stored as report evidence.

Friend messages are stored in the service database. The database migration documents a 15-day cleanup job, but the checked-in migration does not activate it; its status must be confirmed by the operator. Removing the friendship deletes its messages.

When someone reports a conversation, the reporting browser sends its recent text snapshot to the service and asks the other browser for its copy. The app does not guarantee that a report is reviewed or that a ban will follow.

We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number. Your browser holds a random ID so that blocks, bans, and your friends list can work; it is not linked to your identity. Your friends list lives in this browser only — clearing your site data or using a different browser starts you over with an empty list.
